About the Role

As our Corporate Counsel, you will be instrumental in supporting SkyNRG’s legal operations across corporate governance, financing, compliance, and commercial contracting. You will work closely with the Legal, Risk & Compliance team, as well as various business teams, to ensure that SkyNRG operates efficiently and within legal frameworks. With SkyNRG expanding and preparing for the Final Investment Decision (FID) in Delfzijl, this role is crucial to managing ongoing legal affairs and supporting our ambitious growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal support on investments, divestments, financing, and corporate housekeeping.
• Assist the Risk & Compliance function in developing and maintaining policies, delivering training, and managing screening/KYC procedures.
• Collaborate with the Commercial team on contracting, including Book & Claim sales, SAF sourcing, NDAs, and early-stage agreements.
• Advise the People & Culture team on employment law and works council matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate corporate agreements, including shareholder and financing agreements.
• Develop and implement best practices for legal operations to enhance efficiency.

We are looking for a legal professional with a business-oriented mindset, who enjoys working in an entrepreneurial and fast-moving environment. Ideally, you recognize yourself in the following:

• A Master’s degree in Law from the EU, UK, or US (or a legal education and experience relevant to this role, recognizing diverse career paths into law)
• Around at least 5 years of legal experience, with at least 2 years in-house
• A true team player, focused on collective success rather than individual career progression.
• Hands-on, solutions-oriented mindset.
• Passion for renewable energy and sustainability.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience in Mergers & Acquisitions.
• Understanding of Dutch employment laws.

Soft Skills:

• Strong business acumen, balancing legal rigor with commercial pragmatism.
• Resilient and able to thrive in a fast-paced, unstructured environment.
• Proactive, service-minded, and collaborative.
