Interim HR Manager
Take the lead in crafting a future-ready HR strategy for our Delfzijl plant and help lay the foundations for a thriving, purpose-driven workplace at the heart of sustainable aviation.

This is a part-time (approximately 8-12 hours per week), 6-month contract role, based in Delfzijl, the Netherlands.
SkyNRG is seeking an experienced Interim HR Manager on an interim basis, to help establish the foundational people practices for our new Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) production facility in Delfzijl. Over the next six months, you’ll play a pivotal role in setting up the employment conditions, HR systems, and strategic HR frameworks that will support DSL’s operational readiness.
This is a hands-on, execution-focused role where your expertise will directly shape how we hire, onboard, and support our Delfzijl team (DSL). You’ll work closely with the DSL management team, the broader People & Culture (PC) team, and external partners to ensure our HR setup is locally compliant, strategically sound, and aligned with SkyNRG’s values.
Your contributions will be critical in defining compensation structures, implementing core HR systems, and crafting policies that reflect both industry standards and our commitment to building a high-performing, purpose-driven workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement the People & Culture framework for DSL, aligned with SkyNRG’s overarching approach—covering HR systems, compensation & benefits, policies, performance management, and talent acquisition
- Develop working conditions and compensation structures that reflect SkyNRG’s employee handbook and local industry standards
- Begin building relationships with local institutions (e.g. universities, vocational schools) and industry peers to help position DSL as an attractive employer in the region
- Offer strategic HR advice to the DSL management team to ensure people decisions support business performance and comply with HSE standards
- Source and manage external HR service providers to support recruitment and operational HR needs
- Act as the key liaison between DSL and the broader SkyNRG People & Culture team to ensure alignment and collaboration
- Help shape the hiring strategy for the DSL plant team in close collaboration with SkyNRG’s Talent Acquisition and People Operations teams.
Your Profile
We’re looking for a proactive and experienced Interim HR manager who thrives in dynamic, innovative, industrial environments. You’re someone who can design from scratch based on (industrial) HR expertise and build strong partnerships. To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:
Must have:
- A strong understanding of HR requirements in a Dutch and international industrial organization (5+ years' experience as HR manager/ People Operations manager)
- Experience setting up and implementing HR systems, working conditions and ways of working
- Business acumen & autonomy: You should have the ability to connect PC strategies to business objectives, ensuring PC initiatives directly contribute to company growth. We seek someone proactive and independent in working with their designated business teams in the DSL organization
- Communication skills: You'll be responsible for conveying PC policies and initiatives across the organization, so the ability to explain complex ideas concisely, both in written content and during training sessions, is essential
- Project management skills: Setting up employment conditions, HR policies and HR systems for our new SAF production facility in Delfzijl, will entail managing several projects simultaneously, so the ability to juggle projects and keep them on track is crucial
- Proactive mindset: You identify opportunities for improvement, take ownership, and implement and drive initiatives forward with confidence
- Fluent in Dutch (native) and proficient in English

- Living within approximately one hour of our plant in Delfzijl
- Experience collaborating with local partners to build a new team in close alignment with our management team
- Positive mindset with an appetite to ‘roll up your sleeves’
- Comfortable and confident in people and culture expertise (e.g. people operations, performance management, compensation & benefits, L&D, org design) and thereby able to convince others, based on solid data and rational reasoning

- A fit-for-purpose People & Culture framework is designed and implemented to support DSL’s initial setup phase within 6 months
- DSL HR systems and working conditions are clearly defined and aligned with SkyNRG standards and local industry benchmarks
- The DSL management team receives timely, strategic HR support across key setup areas including hiring, compensation and benefits, compliance, and operations
- A practical governance structure is in place to ensure alignment between DSL and SkyNRG’s People & Culture priorities
- DSL is positioned as an emerging employer of choice in the Delfzijl region, with strong foundations for future growth
